¿Qué pasa cuando te encuentras a un auténtico caballero del Country -oriundo de Texas y curtido en Nashville-, que suena al más puro estilo y con una voz impresionante (a lo Johny Cash), cantando letras honestas de una recia y singular belleza? Pues que te quitas el sombrero, aunque no lo tengas. 😀
Se trata de Brian Lee Robinson, brillante veterano de la música y -afortunadamente- un auténtico superviviente, no sólo de su generación sino también de sí mismo. Por eso es fantástico escucharle ahora en plenitud de facultades, con su nuevo EP titulado The Texas Side of Nashville. En sus cuatro canciones hallaremos un epítome del mejor y más genuino Country, donde Brian y su grupo despliegan una inspirada mezcla de su estilo «Heart of Texas» con la calidez y musicalidad del clásico sonido Nashville; todo ello expresado a través de letras semi-autobiográficas, cargadas de sentido, ironía y poesía, rezumando hermosos matices de Folk y Americana.
El tema que abre el disco, That Old Cat, lo refleja fielmente, y en el videoclip Robinson recrea y redime parte de su más duro pasado, contemplado por su vieja y leal gata que, como Brian canta, «me amó cuando yo no podía amarme a mí mismo». Ahora los aficionados al buen country los amamos a ambos, celebrando que esta y otras historias nos lleguen en las excelentes canciones que hoy nos brinda este extraordinario artista.

THIS Country Man has a sensibility very good. We all know that Country is really that! The passion of all WE to our things, our ground and our day after day! To me this is the true Country! In our days we have a mix of old and new Country , and the artist need to have too much care… the roots of Country need to be inside the ground … if you don’t do that… your Country is not true!!!!
